The Kidderminster Town Hall is an iconic historic building, designed by architect J.T. Meredith and completed in 1877. Since 1980, it has been officially listed as a Grade II building. In 2024, Glenn Howells Architects were commissioned to modernise the property while preserving its valuable historical features. One of the challenges during the renovation was providing solar shading for the characteristic arched windows. For this, the architect engaged our partner Swanmac, who approached us to help find the best solution.
For arched windows, the awnings from our GJ – MW Round series are the perfect solution. During production, we equipped the fabric with battens to reinforce it and ensure it remains taut when retracted. In the summer of 2025, the awnings were expertly installed on-site by our partner Swanmac, preparing the Town Hall for a new future – in style and comfort.
