RHS Hilltop – The Home of Horticulture is the United Kingdom’s first dedicated horticultural science centre, located in RHS Garden Wisley near Woking, Surrey. This innovative centre, which opened in June 2021, was designed by architectural firm WilkinsonEyre and covers an area of 4,750 m². It features state-of-the-art scientific laboratories, public exhibition spaces, classrooms, an event hall, and facilities for the RHS’s national herbarium, scientific collections, and library.

The building’s architect and contractor contacted our UK partner, Waverley, to provide RHS Hilltop with solar shading systems. The main challenge for Waverley was the event space, which includes a large, asymmetrical window. For the upper section of this window, we supplied asymmetrical shading from our GJ - MW Series, operating from bottom to top. For the lower section, we installed straight shading systems from our MW Series, operating from top to bottom.
